From 22 to 24 January 2017 we will meet again in Villars-sur-Ollon, a village located in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, in the heart of the Vaud Alps. It is on a natural southern facing plateau, at an altitude of 1'300 meters. Villars is one of the closest Swiss moutain resorts to Geneva (115 km, a 1 hour and 20 minute drive), with easy access by car or public transportation. Last year we had a great meeting with a terrific programme, beautiful weather and heavy snow.
The Eurotel Victoria, where most participants will stay, has large conference and meeting rooms. We hope this will contribute to both the scientific and social quality of the meeting. It will give everyone the opportunity to reach the session hall easily and to spend time discussing the issues both inside and outside the conference hall.
The scientific content has been arranged by Jared Torkington from Cardiff Wales, Antonino Spinelli from Milano and our excellent Programme Committee. Before each section there will be a multidisciplinary case discussion with real life stories related to the session theme. We will have a video session on transanal surgery, a debate on ventral mesh rectopexy, lectures on low anterior resection, hereditary cancers and prevention of complications and trial updates.
At a time when there are many competing symposia, the Alpine Colorectal Meeting (former International Colorectal Forum) has a very special appeal. The relatively small group includes some of the major opinion formers in this area, with an opportunity for lively discussion and comment not possible in the big meetings.
We hope that many colleagues will return or indeed come for the first time to the Alpine Colorectal Meeting in Villars-sur-Ollon. Find out what is the breaking news in our speciality, join in the debates and make new friends at what is simply the best boutique meeting in colorectal surgery.
This program has been accredited by the Swiss Society of Surgery (SSC/SGC) for up to 15 CME credits.
